Semarang, May 22, 2024 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has prepared a stock of 100,957 tons of subsidized fertilizer in Central Java, equivalent to 176 percent of the government’s minimum requirement of 57,507 tons. This stock consists of 45,561 tons of subsidized Urea, 55,396 tons of NPK, and 28 tons of Special Formula NPK. As of May 21, 2024, this stock supports the government's increase in the national allocation of subsidized fertilizer from 4.7 million tons to 9.55 million tons, more than double.

This was conveyed by the General Manager (GM) of Region 1 of Pupuk Indonesia, Roh Eddy Andri Wismono, while inspecting the subsidized fertilizer stock at the Kalikuning Warehouse, Pringapus District, Semarang Regency, on Wednesday (May 22, 2024). “We ensure that the stock of subsidized fertilizer in various regions of Indonesia is safe and compliant with regulations, including in Central Java,” said Roh Eddy.

He added that this year, the government has allocated 1,414,306 tons of subsidized fertilizer for farmers in Central Java, about 14.8 percent of the national allocation. This allocation has nearly doubled from the initial allocation of 752,244 tons for Central Java.

The new allocation details include 773,647 tons of Urea, up from 452,612 tons; 640,510 tons of NPK, up from 299,611 tons; and 149 tons of Special Formula NPK, up from 21 tons. Additionally, the government has provided an extra subsidy for 100,096 tons of Organic fertilizer. As of yesterday, the realization of subsidized fertilizer redemption in Central Java was approximately 26.2 percent or 370,779 tons.

“We hope that the existing stock and the increased allocation of subsidized fertilizer from the government can be optimized by farmers to boost rice productivity in Central Java as the national rice granary in 2024,” emphasized Roh Eddy.

In Semarang Regency, Pupuk Indonesia has prepared a stock of 2,974 tons of subsidized fertilizer. This stock is equivalent to 408 percent, or more than four times the government’s minimum requirement of 728 tons. This stock is very secure to meet the needs of subsidized fertilizer for Semarang farmers for the next two weeks.

In 2024, the government has allocated 29,647 tons of subsidized fertilizer for Semarang Regency, consisting of 16,802 tons of Urea and 12,845 tons of NPK. Currently, about 23 percent or 6,965 tons of this fertilizer has been redeemed by farmers in Semarang Regency.

To ensure the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizer in Central Java Province, Pupuk Indonesia has also prepared several supporting facilities. These include 4,905 kiosks, 262 distributors, and 81 field officers who will ensure that all farmers registered in the e-RDKK are entitled to receive subsidized fertilizer in accordance with regulations.

Meanwhile, Ministerial Decree (Kepmentan) No. 249 of 2024 regarding the Allocation and HET of Subsidized Fertilizer for the Agricultural Sector in the 2024 Fiscal Year states that farmers eligible for subsidized fertilizer must be part of a Farmers Group and registered in the electronic definitive group needs plan (e-RDKK).

This subsidized fertilizer is intended for farmers engaged in nine commodities: food crops (rice, corn, soybeans), horticultural crops (chili, shallots, garlic), and plantation crops (sugarcane, cocoa, coffee).

For these types of farming activities, the maximum land area criteria set is 2 hectares, in accordance with the applicable regulations. Under the new regulations, the e-RDKK can be evaluated every four months within the current year. This means that farmers who have not yet received an allocation can input their data during the registration process in the current year's evaluation.

“With the increased allocation, Pupuk Indonesia ensures that the distribution of subsidized fertilizer is accurate. Besides using the Farmer Card, farmers can also use their ID card (KTP) through the iPubers application. Farmers can check the additional allocation at designated Complete Fertilizer Kiosks (KPL). The redemption process has been simplified. Registered recipients of subsidized fertilizer only need to bring their KTP when redeeming,” he concluded.
